Daniel Levi Zok

Daniel served with distinction for 20 years in the United States Army, completing an honorable career marked by courage, discipline, and steadfast devotion to those beside him. He retired from military service as a Certified Senior Jump Master and paratrooper, having served with 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.

Following his retirement from the Army, Daniel continued a life of hard work and public service with the Albany Police Department in Albany, GA, where he served for 18 years. His time with the department included 4 years on patrol and 14 years in criminal forensics, work that reflected both his keen intelligence and his deep commitment to duty.

Beyond his professional life, Daniel found purpose and satisfaction in pursuits that demanded skill, patience, and precision. He enjoyed boxing, outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, and took pride in the craft of gunsmithing. A dedicated collector of coins, firearms, and knives, he also enjoyed both close- and open-range shooting—interests that spoke to his careful workmanship and respect for disciplined practice.

Daniel will be remembered as a craftsman of uncommon capability—an incredibly intelligent man whose honorable and brave spirit was matched by a devoted heart. His life reflected perseverance, service, and a steady willingness to do what was required, for family, for country, and for community.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Harry Zok, and his mother, Dolores Padilla. He is survived by his loving wife, Sun Zok; son, Levi Zok; daughter, Judy Zok; grandchildren, Daniel, Lucas and Vivian; and his twin sister, Donna Zok.
