A longtime Fairport Resident, she is proceeded in death by her parents, Kurt and Uleda Jahns, and sister Cheryl Jahns. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John; daughter Lisa (Paul) Hoffman and son Jonathan (Danni) Leombrone, grandchildren Tyler, Grace, Ethan, and Lucas, and older sister Keryne Lane.
Darleen was born in Binghamton and moved to Fairport in 1965 after graduating from Alfred State Technical College. She worked the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital for over 21 years, where she was an integral part of the university’s health services and affected the lives of countless students, friends, and staff. She also volunteered at the Humane Society of Rochester’s Lollypop Farm.
A woman of fierce intellect, quick wit, and endless charm, Darleen will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
