
BAILEY, Donald Carter, 85 of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama, died on Monday, July 18, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Deffke Bailey; daughter Claire Martha Bailey Hope and her husband Stephen Kent Hope of Dallas, Texas; daughter Helen Carter Bailey Keesey and her husband Douglas Lawrence Keesey of Cayucos, California; grandsons Stuart Kyle Hope, David Carter Hope and Stephen Clark Hope of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Martha Deffke Alexander of Montgomery, Alabama; and nephew Dr. Howard Cobb Alexander, Jr. and his wife Susan Helms Alexander of Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Harwell Bailey and Helen Carter Bailey; his niece Marie Alexander Bone; and his brother-in-law Howard Cobb Alexander. He was born and reared in Laurel, Mississippi; graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering; served two years of active duty in the United States Army during the Korean conflict; and received an M.B.A. degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Alabama. Mr. Bailey was a Certified Public Accountant and served a forty-year career in public and corporate accounting positions in Alabama until his retirement in 1996. Mr. Bailey was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Birmingham. Alabama. The burial will be private. A memorial service will be held in the Westminster Room of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Alabama on Friday, July 22 at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Romanian Missionary Society, PO Box 527, Wheaton, IL 60187-0527 or one’s favorite Christian Charity. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
