
Ernest James Potter died at his home surrounded by family on January 6, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Noelle Simpson Potter. Six children: Mike (Lynda), Kathy (Kim) Bond, Kevin (Kari), Tim, Brian (Celia), Christine (Mike) Gaston; Nineteen grand children and ten great grand children; brother Don (Kathy) Potter, sister Ruth Ann (Robert) Caputo. He was preceded in death by his three daughters, Colleen, Mary Ann and Nadine. His parents were Ernest and Ruth Potter.
Ernie was born and raised in Freehold, NJ, moved to California for four years and the family was transferred to Montgomery in 1980 with Brockway Glass Company.
After retiring, he discovered the world of golf, Lake Martin and he thoroughly enjoyed Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 10th at Alabama Heritage. Visitation at 10am with a life celebration service at 11am followed by graveside services.
Friends and family will gather at St. Bede’s Parish Hall for a luncheon following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to Catholic Social Services located at 4455 Narrow Lane Road, Montgomery, AL 36116.
