WALTERS, Floyd Jack, 79, a resident of Autaugaville, AL, and formerly of Grady, AL, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2107 at his home on the river with his daughters by his side. He was born April 21, 1938 in Dublin, AL to Thaxton Walters and Frances Duke Walters Wood. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and brother. He owned his own business which consisted of a trucking and pallet company and proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Autaugaville Baptist Church, and former member of Landmark Church of Christ, a member of the Autaugaville Lions Club and was a Mason. In his early years, he coached and sponsored numerous ball teams at the American Legion and his children’s schools. Jack was an avid Alabama Fan and was most happy at his home on the river with a fishing pole in his hand. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Bonnie McNeil Walters, son Steve Knight and his sister Joyce W. Cawby. He is survived by his children Floyd D. Walters, Deborah Walters Corley and husband Kevin, Lloyd Walters, Jeff Walters, Scott Knight and wife Juanita, Jaclyn Walters Toole and husband Joe; grandchildren Greyson and Gracey Toole, Cheyenne Browning and husband Jonathan, Marcus and Jennifer Bailey, John, Amber and Ashton Walters, Shae and Harley Knight; sisters Marie Mosier, Shirley Keil and husband Charlie, Patsy Ward, Cindy Halleyburton and husband John; sisters-in-law, Betty Hosmer and husband Don, and Barbara Ellison; wife of 6 months, Patsy; many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greyson Toole, Joe Toole, Kevin Corley, Floyd D. Walters, Lloyd Walters, Junious Jones and Shannon Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff and Ashton Walters and past and present employees of Walters Pallets. Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Morrow School House Cemetery, Georgiana, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to one’s favorite charity.
