

MEEK, Frank Thomas, Sr., 72 of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2012, after an extended battle with cancer. Devoted husband, father, paw paw, and brother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 plus years, Faye, his two sons Frank Jr. (LeeAnn) of Atlanta, GA and Ronald (Mary) of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Dorian Brown (Christopher) and Owen Meek both of Atlanta, GA.; brothers William (Phyllis) of Birmingham, AL, James (Sandra) of Pearland, TX; sisters Delores Moore (Don) and Barbara Wilson (John) both of Birmingham, AL and many nieces and nephews. In life, Frank was a steadfast member of Aldersgate UMC and a member of the bell choir. Aside from taking his wife and grandchildren to Dairy Queen as often as possible, he enjoyed travel around the United States and spending time with his family. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. After his service he worked in the finance industry and retired from American General Finance. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the
doctors, staff and volunteers at the Montgomery Cancer Center and the nursing staff at Baptist East Medical Center ICU and floor 1 South for the kind and expert care they provided to Frank. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Frank to The Lymphoma Society, Copay Assistance Program, P. O. Box 12268, Newport News, VA 23612. Funeral services will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with a graveside committal service to follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Rev. Glen Pugh, Rev. Paul Turner and Rev. Ryan Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
