Fred Douglas Neighbors, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017. He was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit. Fred was active in community theater both as an actor and director, he loved to sketch, and dance with his beloved wife. He most of all loved his five grandchildren. Fred is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Sally L. Neighbors; his parents, Ed W. and Ruby Pearl Neighbors; his sisters, Jo Anne Neighbors and Wilma Jean Rader, and his brother Edgar Jack Neighbors. Fred is survived by his daughters, Maureen Neighbors her husband Charles "Bubba" Allison and Erin Neighbors Zuber her husband Chilton Zuber; and his five grandchildren Michael C. Zuber, Charles F. Allison IV, Eleanor L. Zuber, Amelia G. Zuber, and George L. Allison. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Church of the Holy Spirit. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am with Father Patrick Driscoll officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Building Fund (Montgomery, AL) or St. Agnes School Library (Louisville, KY).
