OBITUARY
Frederick John Sobeck
January 24, 1960 – April 3, 2021
Frederick “Fred” John Sobeck, age 61, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021. A lifelong resident of Florida, Fred moved from North Palm Beach, Florida to Montgomery, Alabama in 2015.
He was a 1978 graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and a 1982 graduate of Northwestern University, a fraternity brother of Phi Delta Theta and enjoyed playing football as a strong safety for the Wildcats. Growing up in Miami, he was also a huge Miami Hurricanes fan. Fred was a private investigator with his own business, Sobeck Investigations.
He was preceded in death by his son Blake Sobeck, parents John and Joan Sobeck, sister Mary, brother Frank and his nephew Jimmy. He is survived by his spouse, Julie Sobeck; his daughter Amanda Sobeck; two sisters, Janet Fife and Christine Neace Porten; one brother, Tommy Sobeck; Several nieces and nephews, and a host of lifelong friends, all of whom he loved.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.

Dear Julie and Amanda, I offer my deepest condolences for your loss. It was my great pleasure to know Fred and have his friendship for more than 40 years. From the first day I met Fred at Northwestern he was my best friend. He was a great teammate, he made everyone around him better, and not just on the football field. Fred wanted everyone to have as much fun as he was having and he made sure of it. Fred was the Best Man at my wedding and he was one of the best men I’ve known in my life. Please find solace in knowing that he is at peace.

I am deeply pained to learn about Fred's passing. He and I went to Northwestern and played football together. No words can express the sorrow I feel. My favorite memory of Uncle Fred is his laugh. When Adrienne and I were young we would drive from Miami to your house in West Palm for weekends. I remember him and Mary laughing all weekend. I remember how much fun it looked like they were having. I remember his laugh being jovial and sincere. I always had so much fun those weekends and never wanted to leave.

I did not have the privilege of knowing Fred well but Amanda, Blake and Julie are some of my favorite people. I went through the loss of your beautiful son Blake and I so admired your strength and courage when I know your heart was breaking... I know Fred was a rock for you during that time and ever since..
