Harold Ray Snyder, 84, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Two years after finishing high school, he joined the U.S. Army and then attended college on a G.I. Bill at both Jacksonville State and A.U.M. He was a huge Alabama Football Fan, Atlanta Braves Fan, and an avid golfer with many trophies. He enjoyed playing with his friends at Arrowhead Country Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and the Joy Singers Choir. Most of his career was in sales with both Sherwin Williams and Gold Bond Building Materials.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Joyce B. Snyder; his daughter Kelly Ray, and son Kenny Snyder; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Ariail; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Drusillia Snyder, and a sister Bernice Yancey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 with Rev. Jay Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
