She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Mulligan and her father Lucius McLain and a granddaughter, Margaret Ann McLendon.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wallace “Jack” McLendon; a son, Lane McLendon; a daughter, Dale (Jeff) Thornell; grandchildren, Dottie, Laney, Adam and Spencer; great-grandchildren, Aiden, and Parker; a brother, Thomas McLain and loving friend, Jo Ann Bailey.
The family is grateful to Baptist Hospice and Sandra and Tenysha Price for their loving care this past year.
The family will receive friends at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 1 – 2 p.m. with graveside services following in Alabama Heritage Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Tim Thompson officiating. Helen was an avid golfer with many friends at Arrowhead and Wynlakes. She was a longtime member of Frazer United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Baptist Hospice.
