

John "Jack" Morris Vosse, a respected and beloved figure in the Pike Road community, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 14, 2025 at the age of 84. Jack was widely recognized for his generosity, sincere kindness, and unwavering dedication to others.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lee Young Vosse, with whom he shared countless adventures and an enduring love. He spoke of her often and with deep affection, cherishing her memory every day after her passing in 2008. Though he had no biological children, Jack was affectionately known as a father and grandfather figure to many. His captivating stories, genuine warmth, and sincere care endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jack's unique ability to make everyone feel valued was a distinctive trait that enriched the lives of countless individuals.
Jack earned degrees from Memphis State University (Accounting), the Air Force Institute of Technology (Logistics Management), and Auburn University Montgomery (MBA). He honorably served his country, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.
Jack dedicated over six decades of volunteer service to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Beginning his volunteer work in the 10th grade, his tireless contributions supported the hospital's mission and positively impacted thousands of children and families over the years.
His devotion to faith and Century Church inspired many around him. Jack faithfully served on the Century Leadership Team, Finance Team, Trustees Team, Hospitality Team, Missions Team, Special Events, and in the Church Office—doing anything he could to move the mission of Century Church forward into the future.
Reflecting on his life's work, Jack once remarked, "I have had the opportunity to help build a company, a non-profit, and now a church for Jesus." His exemplary spirit of service, encouragement, and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Jack is survived by Nadine Smith (sister), Jackie Smith Chartrand (niece), Noah Chartrand (grand-nephew), Lily Chartrand (grand-niece), Elizabeth Quakes (cousin), Johnny Hessen (cousin), Harry Hessen (cousin), Kyung Bai Kim (cousin), Daniel Kim (nephew), David Kim (nephew), Sarah Kim (niece), Nora Kim (great-niece), and Caleb Kim (great-nephew).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 20th, at 3:00 PM at Century Church, located at 1001 Marler Road, Pike Road, AL.
