Again, so sorry to hear this. Have been looking for the obituary for days in the paper but obviously missed it. We remember our friendship at Whitfield UMC and were so surprised to learn we were neighbors on Dopson Point on the lake. Such a fine man and I know he will so be missed. Our sincere condolences. Mr. Jim Burley will be missed. What a kind, gentleman who made everyone feel so welcomed in their home. As a childhood friend of Christy's, we spent time at eachother's homes. Mr. Burley made me feel at home and welcomed. Thank you for the sweet memories and kindness. I am praying for Mrs. Burley, Jim, Christy, and Rick as well as all of the extended family. I hope Bob and Martha Gaddis welcomed Jim in heaven and they reminisced carpool rides, "Gayfer Girls" and the opening night of Eastdale Mall, cheerleading, middle school girl stuff, and many other memories from the 1970s. My love and hugs of comfort and being sent to each of you since I am unable to be there in person. God Bless each of you and give you peace and comfort in the coming days.

I met Jim Burley twenty years ago when he came to welcome my husband David and me to Lake Martin. We consider ourselves privileged to have known Jim and Rachel and lucky our house is just one house over from their home. He will be greatly missed for his smile, his humor and his wonderful stories. Jim was always enthusiastic and optimistic---even when he played golf. Our sincere sympathy to Rachel and family.

Named after my Father and the oldest child in our family, I’ve always felt a responsibility to be like my Dad. He was a Good Man and I strive to be more like him every day. I feel so very blessed to be his son.

Loving sympathies to Aunt Rachel and her family. I married into the loving Burley family almost 32 years ago. I have many great memories from the Burley reunions and the pontoon boat rides with Uncle Jim and Aunt Rachel on Lake Martin. Loved sharing the time and meals with them . He will be missed. Love to all...Jane...Brian and Bethany, also. 💗
