James Edward Sager, 90, of Wetumpka, AL passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. He was born and raised in Montgomery, AL, served his country in the armed forces, was a prospect for minor league baseball and worked for the City of Montgomery as a Draftsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Nelly Sager, two daughters, Vicky Lynn Sager and Brenda Lee Sager and a brother, Richard Sager.
Mr. Sager is survived by his loving wife, Eloise Taylor Sager, sons, James Daryle Sager (Julie), Jason Michael Sager (Tina), grandchildren, Hannah Sager Campbell (Jake), Rebecca Catherine Sager, Chase Myles LeNoir, Braydon Paul Kirby, Taylor Marie Sager, Jason Hanson Sager, Michael Lynn Sager, and James Lee Sager.
He served his community through his job and through volunteer services as a Mason (Shriner). He enjoyed the game of golf but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home 10505 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, AL 36117. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronnie O’Connor, Jim Strong, Bobby McAnally, Louis Harris, Kevin Daughtery, Sonny Robinson and Billy Taylor.
