Jane was born on January 18, 1936, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Curtis and Gerata Irelan. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and taught elementary school. Jane later completed a Master's in Psychology at Auburn University in Montgomery.
Jane raised three daughters, worked in many capacities in the family's business including the design of several locations, enjoyed her time as a docent at the Montgomery Museum and volunteered tutoring english to elementary students. She loved tennis, gardening, card games, crossword puzzles and her dogs. As an avid reader, she would read two or three books simultaneously. Jane had a caring personality; she was always ready to listen and advise.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norman Bryce Irelan, and granddaughter, Sara Michelle Buffton. She is survived by her husband, Jackie R. Bryant; daughters, Jill A. Hadley, Lisa J. Hadley, and Sara H. Buffton; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and brother, Patrick Irelan.
Jane will be interred next to her parents in Hopewell Cemetery, Wapello County, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.
