Jeffrey Edwin Bufford was born on January 10, 1964, in Maine, to Geraldine Drake Bufford and the late John Edward Bufford. Affectionately known as “Jeff” or “Bo Dean” by his family and friends, he also proudly held the nickname “King of Foster Street.”
At an early age, Jeffrey joined St. Luke CME Church in Auburn, Alabama. He attended Auburn City Schools and graduated with the Class of 1983.
Jeff never met a stranger. His outgoing personality and love of conversation made him well known throughout the community. He was a familiar face at high school sporting events. Whether in person or over the telephone, Jeff loved staying connected with the people who meant so much to him.
Jeff worked at Winn-Dixie Supermarket in Auburn for several years and continued working for the company after moving to Texas.
Jeff had a special love for football, and his heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys and the Auburn Tigers. A devoted, die-hard fan, he proudly stood by his teams through every victory and every disappointment. Talking Cowboys and Auburn football was one of his favorite pleasures, and those who knew him knew that his loyalty to the Cowboys’ blue and silver and Tigers’ orange and blue ran deep. His love for his teams was an unforgettable part of his personality.
Jeff also had a style all his own. He loved wearing his gold necklace and jewelry, adding a signature touch to his memorable presence.
His friendly spirit, lively conversations, and memorable presence will be deeply missed.
On October 3, 2026, Jeffrey peacefully transitioned from this earthly life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Retired Chief Master Sergeant John Edward Bufford; his sister, Jennifer E. Bufford; and his grandparents, John Henry and Alma Bufford, Zenobia Benford, and Joe Frank Drake.
