Kim graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1972 and then furthered his education at Ohio University. Following his college graduation, he and his high school sweetheart Janette Jackson were married in 1976. He was hired by Coopers and Lybrand in Columbus Ohio and went on to become a licensed CPA. In 1987, Kim and Janette moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he opened the Montgomery office. He was admitted to the partnership of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1990 as a Financial Services Assurance Partner. Kim retired from PwC in 2010.
After retiring, Kim worked at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School as the Business Manager (2013 - 2018), served on the Board of Trustees for the Dixie Electric Cooperative (2015 - 2024), and served on the Board of Trustees for the PowerSouth Energy Cooperative (2021 - 2024). Kim also served as the Treasurer and Director for the Boys and Girls Club of the River Region for over 25 years.
He lived his life with clear priorities: God, family, friends/community, and golf. Kim’s foundation was set by his faith and unwavering trust in and love for our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be remembered as a humble, kind, generous, and God-fearing man. He was a hard worker; however, during his free time, he enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes, sunset cruises at Lake Martin, Destin beach vacations, and any excuse to be with family and friends. Kim’s motto was “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish” and his secret to success was “all things in moderation.”
Kim was preceded in death by his parents Frank Jackson and Clara Jackson, his infant brother Daryl Jackson, his sister-in-law Donna Jackson, and his niece Christa Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law John Joesph McCann, mother-in-law Mary Jane McCann, and brother-in-law George McCann.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janette Jackson, his daughter Lisa (Andrew) Lovelady of Reeltown, Alabama - Children: Aubrey, Carly, Emmy, and Gracey, as well as his son Ryan Jackson of Birmingham, Alabama - Children: Ava Claire and Lillian Jane (Janie).
Visitation will take place at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in Montgomery, Alabama at Holy Spirit Parrish at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Following the mass, the burial will take place back at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Holy Spirit Parrish Hall after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School or the Boys and Girls Club of the River Region.
