Lee Yourman. Wow, what a great leader! He led Boy Scout Troop 189 by example, with vision, hard work, kindness and compassion. His success and the fun environment he created attracted other dads to become active with the troop. My dad still talks about the time after a cold, rainy night of camping along the Fox River, Lee loaded up the Chevy Beauville van with several dozen wet sleeping bags, and they drove to a nearby laundromat to dry them so his Scout troop could stay another night and sleep warm and dry. Lee’s winter cabin campouts were even more legendary with the highlight being nighttime rounds of bingo played for ridiculously nice prizes (his job with Union Oil may have helped with that). Many scouting families were supplied with lanterns and flashlights for years to come. Lee introduced a rag tag bunch of suburbanite kids to the outdoors, adventure, camaraderie, and important life skills, and I know his efforts enriched my youth. Looking back, I am not sure how he mustered up the energy to do it all with his busy job and family life. The Yourmans are one of the most giving families I have ever known, and my deepest sympathies go out to them . I hope they can take some comfort in knowing that although the people whose lives were touched by Lee are mourning, they are also smiling remembering how his lighthearted laugh and ever-present kindness made things better.

Papa Yourman (Lee) was one of God's angels placed on this Earth to show us all what to strive to be. He was a kind, generous, honorable and loving father, husband, friend and mentor. My fondest memories of Papa Yourman and his family ( rafting trip, my wedding) comes with flowing tears of laughter and happiness. I know this lost is great but Papa Yourman leaves behind a family who will carry on his faith, values and love. Earth's lost is Heaven's gain. Rest in peace Papa Yourman.

My Message to Jeff Yourman: I know the man you are reflects the father and man Mr. Yourman has been to so many. I remember Mr. Yourman as a kind hearted man who would do just about anything for anyone. I remember his dry crazy sense of humor that left many with gut wrenching laughter. I remember watching Mr. Yourman mentor you and I heard him when he said he was proud of you. Everyday and every time you look in the mirror you will see your father in the REFLECTION. I am praying for your mother, you and your entire family. I love y'all - David Green
