Lenora Annette Duncan

Lenora Annette Duncan, 71, passed away on July 23, 2026. Born on September 6, 1954, Annette was originally from Russellville, Alabama, and moved to Montgomery when she was 16. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and went on to spend a year furthering her education at the University of North Alabama and AUM.

Throughout her working life as a young woman, she held several positions, including work at a drugstore in Montgomery Mall. She later worked as an accountant at Colonial Bank, Duncan & Duncan, and finally at Publications Plus, from which she retired. Above all else, she considered her most important calling to be motherhood—devoting herself wholeheartedly to raising her two children with unwavering love and loyalty.

Annette was a woman of faith whose life reflected quiet strength and compassionate care for others. She spent over 45 years as a member of Eastbrook Church of Christ, and when the congregation disbanded, she spent her last five years at Perry Hill Road Church of Christ. She shared her faith generously, teaching Bible Study to young children and returning home with a lighthearted story from the day—small moments that revealed both her warmth and the joy she found in nurturing others.

A proud and attentive mother, Annette was deeply family oriented and cherished those she loved with a devotion that never wavered. In her later years, she lovingly cared for her mother with the same dedication that defined so much of her life. She carried herself with resilience through life’s challenges, and her legacy will be remembered in the love she showed for her family. Annette had a fondness for all shades of purple, especially lavender, a simple delight that those close to her will remember with tenderness. She was also a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan who rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on her team.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas "Tommy" Moore and Nina "Frances" Moore; as well as her husband, Thomas "Ashley" Duncan. She is survived by her children, Jeremy Michael Ramsey (Becky) and Lenora "Alicia" Ramsey; grandchildren, Meghan Ramsey, Jackson Ramsey and Dash Ramsey; brothers, Brian Moore (Ximena) and Craig Moore (life partner, Marion Hale); nieces, Isabella Moore, Katie Keeley (David) and Grace Moore; as well as great nieces and nephews, Esther Keeley, Eva Keeley and Josh Keeley.

Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, on July 30, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. with a Funeral Service following at the same location.
