I will always remember spending summers at yours and pawpaw house, swimming in the pool and you sitting out there just to watch me swim.  Remember all the trips to the beach and hanging out by the pool.  I remember the time you told me to stay away from the street and didn't so you gave me a spanking, and I said to you  "don't you know they can get you for child abuse" and you said that they can get you for killing me too lol.  When I was little you used to always take me shopping to get a mother day present for mama and take me Christmas shopping for her I will always remember the amazing memories that I have of you and will forever cherish them, thank you being the best grandmother that anyone could ever have. I hated to see you go but at the same time I was relieved because you were no longer suffering.I will never forget you and cant wait to see you again one day. I will love you forever.

My Mother, My Best Friend

She was always a big part of my life.  She was my best friend and someone I could always count on no matter what the circumstances.  She was always soo easy to talk to, giving me suggestions, but never telling me what to do.  I miss talking to her on a daily basis, even though she was not able to carry on a conversation.  Mothers smile was soo infectious and brightened up any room she entered.  On the days she did not feel that good, people would ask her where is that smile and she would put the biggest smile on her face.  She always loved when people ask her if we were sisters and she would put that big grinn on her face and thank them and told them we were.

It was very hard to see my mother in her condition, but I was soo blessed to have her with me every day for three years.  I enjoyed our Sunday mornings watching Frazier on television and her trying to sing along with me.  I remember the last song she tried to sing was 'Jesus Loves Me' and that he did.  She had a strong faith and it showed in her daily walk.  Heaven is blessed to have her as an Angel and I know that she is celebrating with Daddy and her family now.  

Mother was my first love, my first friend, even my first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate us, not even time, not even death.

Two Mothers Remembered

I had two Mothers – two Mothers I claim
 Two different people, yet with the same name.
 Two separate women, diverse by design,
 But I loved them both because they were mine.
 The first was the Mother who carried me here,
 Gave birth and nurtured and launched my career.
 She was the one whose features I bear,
 Complete with the facial expressions I wear.
 She gave me her love, which follows me yet,
 Along with the examples in life that she set.
 As I got older, she somehow younger grew,
 And we'd laugh as just Mothers and daughters should do.
 But then came the time that her mind clouded so,
 And I sensed that the Mother I knew would soon go.
 So quickly she changed and turned into the other,
 A stranger who dressed in the clothes of my Mother.
 Oh, she looked the same, at least at arm's length,
 But now she was the child and I was her strength.
 We'd come full circle, we women three,
 My Mother the first, the second and me.
 And if my own children should come to a day,
 When a new Mother comes and the old goes away,
 I'd ask of them nothing that I didn't do.
 Love both of your Mothers as both have loved you.

Lynne and Leigh,I have so many memories of your mother. When I think of her  I think of the weeks I spent with y'all in Huntsville ,trips to the beach, shopping; and the many holidays we spent together. She was funny , Happy and always had a joke to tell. She gave me a lot of advice and words of wisdom.  I loved her and will never forget those beautiful big brown eyes.

Lynne and Leigh, I loved going to Aunt Lucille's for Thanksgiving. The food was always delicous and being at her house was always fun. Her jokes and funny stories were hilarious and when she would start to cry happy tears while telling a story, it would crack me up! I also loved being at the beach with her and seeing her in her bikini. She was was an absolute treasure to our family.

Lynn and Leigh oh what a wonderful Aunt your Mom was ! Always the life of the family get togethers she always had a joke or Two for us ! She was a special lady that is for sure ... When Claudette and I moved to montgomery in the late 70's she took us under her wing if we ever needed anything she was Just a phone call away !  Love you both cousins.. Take it one day at a time . Lucile was my favorite aunt. I will always
remember the lessons she taught me.
1- How to carry my purse in the mall so no
one grabs it. (still do that)
2- If the recipe calls for water use milk
instead. (still do that)
3- How to pull weeds. 
Never could get into pulling the weeds, but your Mom loved working in her yard.
I know my Dad, her brothers, sister and Mama Rabren/Daddy Jack are all happy to see her.

Lynne, I have such fond memories of your Mama and Daddy. So much energy, so much love, and Aunt Lucile always had that smile, and an entertaining story just bursting from her. I really miss those Thanksgivings and Christmas Days when we would all get to see one another, and "catch up".

Lynn and Lee, so sorry to hear of the death of your beloved mother. She and Leon were some of our best friends and we have such fond memories of our time together.  Our thoughts and prayers are with youl
