Marcus Jones was born on November 26, 1955 in Lowndes County, AL to James and Gladys Jones. He graduated from Sydney Lanier High School in 1976. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army serving in various capacities. He served until retirement. Upon returning to Montgomery, AL, in 1995, he joined South Perry Street Church of Christ. Marcus was a saved and faithful servant of the Lord. He worked there tirelessly, at that congregation, from the time he joined, in service of the Lord, until he was called home.
Marcus is survived by four children: Tamiko Jones, Marcus Jones, Kayla Jones, and Timothy Jones; his mother Gladys Jones; five grandchildren Michael Jones, Nicolai Jones, Jaden Jones, MaKayla Jones, Laynden Jones; two sisters Deloise Jones and Anietra Mays, a niece and nephew, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends.
