Margaret Chadick Beasley, 97, was born July 7, 1929, and passed away September 10, 2026. Margaret will be remembered as a cherished presence—gentle in spirit, compassionate in heart, and steadfastly devoted to the people entrusted to her care. Her life reflected quiet strength, patient love, and a resilience that carried her family through every season.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Margaret lived there until she met her loving husband and their love story began. Even in her earliest years, her selfless nature was evident. She took great care of her parents and her brothers, with special tenderness for her mother during illness—offering loyalty and steady compassion that never sought recognition, only the comfort of those she loved.
As a teenager, Margaret met the love of her life, Bill Beasley, at a dance. They ran away together to marry due to Margaret’s family being Catholic and Bill being Baptist, only to be surprised by the open arms that welcomed Bill afterward despite their differences. Throughout their marriage, dancing remained one of their shared joys; they seemed to float, moving as though they were one. Their signature song was “In The Mood” by Glenn Miller, a melody that came to symbolize the warmth and unity they carried together through life.
They began with humble means, renting a closed-in porch as their first home. What others might have called hardship, Margaret remembered as some of the best times of her life—because, to her, home was never an address, but the place where love was lived and family was held close.
When Bill joined the Army and served with bravery and honor—twice in Vietnam, along with many other services—Margaret stood strong as a devoted military wife, leading her family with steady values and a calm, selfless courage. During demanding years marked by moves across the United States and the strain of combat deployments, she created a loving home and made it look effortless. Her children knew without question the depth of her unconditional love. She extended that care beyond her own household as well, offering simple joys—sandboxes and swings, cookies and jello snacks—and a generous spirit that made room for others.
A woman of God, Margaret loved her Savior and prayed often and long, making a point to pray for everyone. She also loved pets and taught her children love and responsibility through caring for them. Later in life, she shared a special bond with her cat, Kiki, who stayed faithfully by her side.
Margaret’s legacy is one of devotion and grace. She was widely loved by all who met her, known for sweetness and a gentle manner, with a touch of playful sass. She held her family together with patient steadiness and taught by example that generosity is meant to be lived. She was proud when her children returned home missing brand-new clothing because they had given it to someone in need. In every way, she sought to lift others—quietly, consistently, and without hesitation.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Horace Billy “Bill” Beasley; her parents, William Emile Chadick and Delia Catherine Chadick; and her brothers, William Emile Chadick III and John Warren Chadick.
She is survived by her children, Cara Diane Beasley and Alan David Beasley; grandchildren, Brian Beasley, Eric Beasley, and Reagan Theurer; as well as great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Kiki.
