

She was a dedicated member at St. Bede's Catholic Church, and previously a member of Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic Church. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She volunteered and delivered food for the Montgomery Area Food Bank to charitable organizations while she was also a volunteer at the Montgomery Humane Society. She was a member of the Archibald Center and the Jarrow Club as well. Wife, mother, grandmother, and friend were many of the titles she loved. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Charles Brandon Hester, as she traveled along his side for 27 years while he traveled in the military. They were married for 53 years. She was an avid domestic and world-wide traveler with friends and also tour groups.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Brandon Hester; children, Christopher Brandon Hester of Overland Park Kansas, Heather Leigh (Jeff) Van Dyke of Shawnee, Kansas, Mark Brandon Hester of Montgomery, Alabama, and Amy Elizabeth Hester of Bonner Springs, Kansas; grandchildren,m Dylan Thomas Van Dyke, Whitney Elizabeth Van Dyke, and Jackson Charles Van Dyke.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lydia Costa of Santa Barbara, California.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 27th beginning at five in the evening with a Rosary service to begin at six in the evening at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home 10505, Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama 36117.
