Martha Brock Sams

She was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama. She attended Gadsden High and Auburn University and later made Montgomery, Alabama, her home, where she attended Fraser Church, volunteered at the local hospital, and spent many happy afternoons with her beloved dog “Freckles” and friends at the Blount dog park.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Almer and Lillie Brock, and her sisters, Vern Walker and Lee Collins.

She is survived by her children, Lewis Reeve Sams (Susan Marie Sams) and Laura Sams Watson (Marc Charles Watson), and her grandchildren, Logan Sams Doe, Amber Sams Scherer, Matthew Sams Watson, Jonathan Marc Watson, and Lillie Grace Watson.

In her later years, Martha made her home at Sonoma House Memory Care in Carrollton, Texas, where she shared countless meals, laughter, and activities with her dear friend Pat. Her family is deeply grateful for the kindness and love of Gina–Nyika Soda, Barbara Monismith, and all of the wonderful caregivers at Sonoma House #2 and Holding Hands hospice.

We rejoice knowing she is healed and home with Jesus.
