

He was a former deacon of First Baptist Church Montgomery. He had passion for children and ministry missions. He went on multiple well drilling mission trips to Guatemala, and several trips to Cuba. Merrill was known to have a giving heart. He was a volunteer at Master's Garden in Chisholm and provided meals to Lanier football teams through FBC youth ministry. He sponsored Miracle League baseball in Montgomery along with several travel baseball teams including Alabama Sluggers, Alabama Seminoles, JSU Football Merrill Dillard Ingram Players Lounge.
Merrill was known to be man who truly enjoyed his life. He loved God, his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at his farm and watching the sunset. His spiritual gift was described as generosity, and the fruits of that gift were significant to so many individuals, organizations, and charities. Merrill made an impact on anyone's life that he came into contact with.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Ingram; daughter, Alyson Terry and husband Truett; son, Dylan Ingram and wife Sommer; grandchildren, Scarlet Terry, Calum Terry, Quentin Terry; sisters-in-law Debra Strevel and Kathan Harper and husband Shane; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of remembrances donations can be made to First Baptist Church Montgomery Missions in Merrill's name.
Friends are cordially invited to a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, September 2nd at one o'clock in the afternoon at Baptist Church Montgomery.
