He was born in Dyer, Arkansas to the late Price Perry Acord and Ruby Elsie Wright Acord. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Acord and a sister, Menna Sue Acord.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia DeFir Acord; daughter Peggy Acord Owens (Gary); son, Ricky Darrell Acord (Vicky); four grandchildren, Wesley D Acord (Brianna), Harrison Graydon, Jessica Acord Kimbro (Turner) and Virginia Graydon; two great grandchildren, Stran and Price; two sisters, Doris Jordan and Barbara Toney.
Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Acord, Turner Kimbro, Gary Owens, Harrison Graydon, Garrett Shadoan and Jon Rawls.
