Priscilla Creech

Priscilla Creech, 83, passed away on August 1, 2026. Born December 5, 1942, in Elgin, Texas, where she spent much time with her godparents, MaMa and Don. After her sister was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, the family soon made their way to Alabama, where her life unfolded with steady faith, deep devotion, and a warmth that drew people in. Raised in a military family, she became accustomed to change and moving around, yet she carried with her a constant gift for making any place feel welcoming and familiar.

In her youth, Priscilla treasured time spent with both sets of her grandparents between Rockford and Sylacauga, Alabama. She and her sister would spend whole summers together—days marked by closeness, laughter, and the kind of family bonds that shaped her for a lifetime. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Huntington college for a short while. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Wiley, on a blind date. After only two months, they married on February 21, 1964, and were united in love for 62 years.

Priscilla’s life was marked by devotion—to her family, to her faith, and to the everyday work of making a home warm and welcoming. An animal lover at heart, she experienced farmland through Wiley’s work in agriculture and raising beef cattle, and she delighted in the many animals that came with that life—dogs, cats, cows, and horses. Her favorite pet was Tipper, her black lab.

Gifted with both musical and creative talents, Priscilla loved playing the piano and would play for Morningview Baptist Church. She also praised through song, singing hymnals with a faithful spirit that quietly guided her life. Her interests were many: she loved dancing—especially disco and ballroom dancing with Wiley—and she also worked as a hairdresser. Her creativity found expression in painting natural beauty—flowers, birds, and animals—working in acrylic, oil, and watercolor without confining herself to a single medium. She was also a gifted seamstress, creating clothes and quilts to share, and she kept her mind lively with puzzles and games, especially Shanghai and Rook.

A compassionate presence with a bright, bubbly way of meeting the world, Priscilla never met a stranger and could talk to a wall. Beloved for her humor and the way she brought color into any room, she had a gift for lifting those around her with high spirits and a ready laugh. Yet beneath that sparkle was a steady, faithful heart—loyal, strong, and unwavering in love. She never held a grudge, and those who knew her best saw in her a woman comfortable in who she was, devoted to what mattered most.

Priscilla adored her family, especially her grandchildren, and was like a second mother to her grandbabies. She would do anything for her family—giving freely, caring deeply, and showing up in ways both large and small. She valued family connection and made sure to call and speak with her daughter and granddaughters every day she possibly could. When her granddaughters were off to college, they would talk with their grandmother for hours—she wanting to feel a part of their lives and know what they were experiencing, and they wanted to share it all with her. Her Christian morals, values, and beliefs were not merely spoken but lived, and she served as a role model to her daughter and granddaughters to do the same.

She enjoyed old movies, cheering for the Auburn Tigers, and sharing the fun of game days with Wiley as they rooted for the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a great cook, and her family especially looked forward to her cornbread—food that fueled many family gatherings. Holidays and events were spent together with her children and grandchildren, and she loved trips to the beach, usually taking one big annual trip with her family. She attended Morningview Baptist, Pike Road Baptist, and lastly, Saint James United methodist church.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, John "Edd" Everette Danner; mother, Margie Dolly Danner; as well as her loving husband, William Wiley Creech.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie White (Barry); granddaughters, Ashton Victoria White and Ansley Grace Flowers (Lance); great-granddaughter, Hadley Grace Flowers; sisters, Cynthia Ann Harper (Paul) and Mary Kim Danner; niece, Laura Harper Thomas (Randy); nephew, Paul "Tripp" Austin Harper III (Dianne); great nieces, Harper Elizabeth Thomas and Mary Frances Harper; as well as great nephews, Henry Randall Thomas III and Paul Austin Harper IV.

Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, on August 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on August 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm.
