

his wife of 59 years, Annie Loyd Jacobs, daughter Elizabeth Ann Teeter and her son James
Yockel, his parents and 8 siblings. He is survived by his wife Doris, sons Rice Alexander
(Nancy) and Paul Jacobs (Teresa), grandchildren Ali White (Neil), Samantha Clarke (Joey),
Michael Jacobs (Leah) and John Jacobs (Katherine), 8 great grandchildren, and numerous
nieces and nephews. Other survivors include Doris’s family, children Tony (Fran) Taylor, Steve
(Cindy) Taylor, Penny (Chris) Parker and Kenny (Dolores) Taylor. He was a combat veteran of the
U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service and sacrifice
during the Battle of the Bulge. After attending the University of Alabama he was a business
owner for many years. An avid golfer, he was active in the AL 60 Plus Golf Assoc. He was a
member of University Church of Christ. The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Wesley
Gardens for their compassionate care over the past 2 years. In lieu of flowers, please consider

A memorial service will be held on December 29, 2021 at University Church of Christ, 5315
Atlanta Hwy, visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m.
