Richard Allen Buffton

Richard loved Alabama football, coaching baseball and wrestling, enjoyed watching Fox News mainly Tucker Carlson, enjoyed fishing with his boys, scuba diving, big family games (the adults always won), loved watching the US softball team.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Jane Buffton; children, Elizabeth Smith and husband Chris, Christina Buckner, Richard L. Buffton, Robert Buffton, and Julia Woodall and husband Tex; three sisters and two brothers; seven grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Sara Michelle Buffton; mother, Elsie Grace Buffton "Baboo" and father, Thomas Harold Buffton "PaPa".

In lieu of remembrances the family ask you make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Mr. Buffton.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation for Richard on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 pm.
