

Dr. Cornell was born November 21, 1933 to the late Mary and Floyd Cornell in West Virginia. He obtained degrees from Vanderbilt, North Western and Ohio University in the fields Education and Audiology. He also served for two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
Dr. Cornell was a professor of Audiology at Auburn University, Clinic Director for Speech and Hearing at Auburn University Montgomery (AUM), President of the Faculty Council at AUM, conducted testing for The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, and did volunteer work for the Medical Outreach Ministry in Montgomery for many years.
He was a member of Frazer Free Methodist Church for over 40 years. He attended the Encouragers' Sunday School Class, held the office of Treasurer of the Men’s Ministry, and expressed his love of God through serving others in various other ministries in the church.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Judith “Judy” Cornell and a host of friends.
A time of visitation with each other will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Frazer Free Methodist Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, AL 36117 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frazer Methodist Congregational Care Ministry.
