

KLATT, Robert Edward, 73, of Wetumpka, AL (Emerald Mountain), passed away February 27, 2016. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Church of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Laurette Klatt of Chicago, IL; his sister Patricia Klatt Glass of Chicago; and Brother Norbert Klatt of Chicago, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Mary Ann Orsi Klatt, of Wetumpka, AL; his daughter Melissa Ann Klatt Baty, son-in-law James Patrick Baty, and his grandchildren whom he adored, Benjamin Patrick Baty, James Alexander Baty, and Mary Ellis Baty, all of Hoover, AL. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lorraine Klatt and many nieces and nephews in Chicago, IL. He was educated at Colorado State University, Golden Gate University, and the University of Alabama. Bob spent 22 years as an Air Force Officer and 25 years with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office working as a system’s analyst and computer consultant. His Air Force career took him to Norad in Colorado Springs, CO; the Nevada Test Site in Nevada; and the Southern Region of NATO in Naples, Italy. He retired from the Air Force in Montgomery, AL. Bob was an amazing, selfless, generous, loving, funny, wonderful, brilliant man loved by so many. His gentle, kind spirit was evident to all who met him. He loved his family, the beach, baseball, Alabama football, nature, collecting stamps, and his truck. He believed in Bigfoot. He enjoyed feeding wildlife in his back yard and was most happy when outside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
