Born on March 24, 1947, to Emanuel and Louise Williams, Rosa lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family. She was the kind of person who always put others first. Whether caring for her parents, her husband, her brother, her children, or her grandchildren, she never hesitated to step in when someone needed her.
Rosa worked for 25 years in Hope Hull, at Flowers Specialty Foods, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She spent more than 30 years in Millbrook, building a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Anyone who knew Rosa knew she was honest, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. She loved the Atlanta Braves, collected angels, and had a sweet tooth that often found her enjoying ice cream straight from the carton. More than anything, she loved her family. She especially cherished her grandchildren and looked forward to the beach trips that became a treasured family tradition through the years.
Rosa leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, selflessness, and strength. Her family will forever remember her as the heart of their family, a woman whose love and guidance helped shape generations.
Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Emanuel Williams; mother, Louise Williams; spouses, Bud Rowland and J. Ben Maddox; siblings, Ronald “Buck” Williams (Brenda). Raymond Williams, Lee Williams (Cindy), Randall “Skeet” Williams (Dean) and Rita Hataway (Tommy); as well as her life long best friend, Judy Albright.
Rosa is survived by her children, Rebecca Phillips and J. Ben Maddox Jr. (Sharon); grandchildren, Christy Hines (Lee), Christi Dejkunchorn (Keith), Matthew Maddox, Morgan Maddox (Abby) and Sylvia Maddox; great-grandchildren, Hailey Royal (Hunter), Aaliyah Williams, Nicholas Salvato and Giovanni Salvato; great-great grandchildren, Noah “Toot” O’Brien and Oakleigh “Sweet Cheeks” O’Brien; siblings Robert “Nukus” Williams, Roger Williams (Rhonda) and Rachel Mills (Mickey); as well as her dogs, Chopper and Sassy.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is reunited with those who went before her and resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
