Sherrill Alonza Fowler

Reverend Sherrill A. Fowler (also known as “Dan”), a resident of Montgomery, AL., born Nov. 17, 1926 in NC, achieved the goal for which all Christians strive and joined his Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2015. Reverend Fowler retired from the U.S. military in 1964, after having served in the USN, US Army and the USAF. He began his military service career in 1943 as a Navy Corpsman and ended his military career as an Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. He taught Science and Biology at the High School level in Brevard County Florida (1964-1968) and college level Parasitology at Auburn University Montgomery. He was a Microbiologist and Deputy Chief of Medical Laboratory Service for 18 years at the V.A, Medical Center on Perry Hill Road in Montgomery. He was a member of and was ordained a Bi-Vocational Pastor in 1986 by Eastern Hills Baptist Church. He served his Lord in this capacity until 1994 and also served as Bi-Vocational President for the State of Alabama. He was a true servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Those who will join him later in Heaven are his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Frances (Davis) Fowler; his son, Charles S. Fowler (Karen) of Hoover, AL, his daughters, Linda Ledbetter of Wetumpka, AL and Janice Mohagheghi (Ali) of Raleigh, NC; his sister, Gracie Gard of Chesapeake, VA; his grandsons Christopher Ledbetter, Matthew Ledbetter, (Janey), Randall Ledbetter (Leslie), Nathan Fowler (Brandi) and Keith Fowler (Heather); his granddaughters Carrie Abad (Edgar) and Kristen Mohagheghi; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie G. and Carrie P. Fowler, two brothers and one sister.

Services will be at Eastern Hills Baptist Church at 2PM. Dr. Rick Marshall and Reverend Larry Armstrong officiating. Visitation will be held at Eastern Hills from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers are: Matthew Ledbetter, Randy Ledbetter, Nathan Fowler, Keith Fowler, Ali Mohagheghi, and Roland Fletcher. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of the Hurley Sunday School Class.
