Shirley was known to have a very vibrant and caring personality. She never knew a stranger, a trail of friends were left everywhere she went due to her warm and welcoming demeanor. She was the most devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend. Words cannot do justice to the love she had for her family and the Lord.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting, bible studies, she served on the first team for walk to Emmaus in the AWF Conference at Blue lake, she was a certified spiritual director with the AWF Conference, she served as a volunteer in the Communities of Transformation, and an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of the Academy of Spiritual Formation.
She is survived by her son, Richard K. Jordan of Millbrook, Alabama; sister, Deborah Nelson and husband Ken of Mt. Vernon, Il; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard E Jordan; parents, Layton and Gladys Aldridge; and sister, Doris Dale.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 6610 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36116, followed by a celebration of life service beginning at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of remembrances may be made to the Adersgate to Communities of Transformation and Renascence Inc.
