He spent 20 years in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the city of Montgomery.
He obtained a Bachelors Degree in history from Auburn University. He loved playing golf and softball.
Steve is preceded in death by his son, Eric Meadors. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda, his son Sean and his wife Michelle; and his sister, Sharon Johnson. Six grandchildren, Tiffany Marchand, Ashley Coker, Meagan and Willow Meadors, Zachary and Gracie Watson; and one great granddaughter, Erica Marchand.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
