OBITUARY

Thomas "Hank" Henry Coleman

October 30, 1952May 28, 2019

Thomas Henry (Hank) Coleman, age 66, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Hank is survived by his wife, Janet Flowers Coleman; daughter Candice Marie Coleman of Montgomery, AL; son Keith Thomas Coleman (Martee) and grandson Jackson Thomas Coleman of Atlanta, GA; brother Mark Coleman (Connie) of Greenville, AL; and many nephews and nieces.

Hank was preceded in death by parents Thomas S. & Rebecca F. Coleman; and brothers Mickey and Toby Coleman.

Hank and Janet were married 46 years. They were childhood sweethearts. They traveled and worked side by side in every undertaking.

Hank attended the University of Alabama, was a member of the Air Force ROTC, a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Geology. He never saw a rock that didn't amaze him.

Hank was an accomplished State Farm Insurance Agent for 40 years. He worked in the Gideon's International Ministry for 27 years with wife Janet by his side serving in the Gideon Auxiliary. His greatest joy was in serving the Lord. He truly was a man after God's heart. He anonymously helped others in many ways. Many a person who knew him knew he was the purest of heart.

Hank was gifted with the voice of an angel. He sang in the America's Youth in Concert before President Richard Nixon at the White House for the signing of the 26th Amendment, giving an 18 year old the right to vote. They sang at Carnegie Hall, then the group toured throughout Europe with a recording company.

Pallbearers include nephews Jeremy Coleman, Andy Coleman, and Julian Coleman; and family friends Clay Henley, David Burt, and Adam Ellis.

The graveside service will be officiated by nephew Michael Coleman at 10am on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will follow indoors in the Magnolia Room with light refreshment.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gideon International Ministry or to Hope Inspired Ministries (HIM).

Janet,
We have been out of the country and just returned last night. Graham forwarded this ob to us.
It is with heartfelt sympathy that we learn this news. We appreciated Hank as our insurance agent and friend. It was a good feeling to know we had someone we could trust when a need arose and he would look after our best interest.
Prayers for comfort and strength as you and your family grieve his passing. He will be missed.
