

Thomas was born March 7, 1942 in Manitowoc, WI son of the late Alvin and Johanna (Van Serke) Klein. He graduated in 1960 from Lincoln High School. Thomas joined the United States Army in 1960 and served until 1964 when honorably discharged. He married Geraldine (Geri) Joy Stone on November 7, 1964. He was an Industrial Engineer with welding as his skill for most of his life. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a devout adorer of Montgomery Area Perpetual Adoration Chapel at Our Lady Queen of Mercy for many years. He was a faithful, witty, and mostly loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend of many who will be sincerely missed. In addition to his parents, Thomas is predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Geri) Klein of Montgomery, AL, a brother Armyn Klein of Daphne, AL, and a sister Sandra Bennin of Sheboygan, WI.Thomas is survived by his and Geri's four children. Two sons Michael Klein (Ann) of Murphy, NC and Mark Klein (Karen) of Prattville, AL. Two daughters Michelle Klein of Montgomery, AL and Melissa Klein of Montgomery, AL. A sister Susie Smith (Donald) of Sheboygan, WI. A brother John Klein (Joyce) of Manitowoc, WI. Four granddaughters Allyssa Klein, Morgan Klein, Megan Lovell (Colton), Kylie Klein. Three great-grandsons Jackson Carter Lathan, Braydon Lovell, and Carson Lovell. A memorial mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8570 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36117. Family and friends were received by his family from 10:00am to 11:00am in the vestibule of the church prior to liturgy. Reverend Phillip A. McKenna will officiate mass and graveside services. Graveside burial of his cremains followed mass at Alabama Heritage Cemetery and included Military Honors.The Klein family would like to thank the following organizations for their exceptional care and consideration given to their father through his illness. Montgomery Cancer Center (Dr. R. Avery), Montgomery Radiology (Dr. Franklin), Dr. Joel Bolen, Baptist Hospital East ICU doctors, nurses, and staff, and finally Baptist Hospice who were tremendous in not only assisting our father but our family.
