Virginia Lucille Peak

Montgomery resident, Virginia Lucille Raines Peak, died January 11, 2024, at Crowne Health Care of Montgomery.

Mrs. Peak was born December 29, 1934, in Montgomery, Alabama to Jason Luna Raines and Laura Virginia Gibbons Raines. Mrs. Peak graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, Montgomery, Alabama and was employed in various roles at Regions Bank (f/k/a First National Bank & First Alabama Bank, respectively) for 39 years. She valued her time at Regions Bank, making lifelong friends who she cherished dearly.

She was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church and subsequently, First Baptist Church. Her interests included time with her family/friends, painting, and attending events at both the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts and Alabama Shakespeare Festival as a season ticket holder. She never met a stranger and was a dedicated fan of Auburn University.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Raines Ford and brother, Jason DeLano Raines. She is survived by two Sons, Jeffrey Carl Peak of Lanett, Alabama, and Robert Alan Peak of Atlanta, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 19, at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117. Visitation is from 2 PM to 3 PM, with graveside service beginning at 3 PM. Dr. Jay Wolf, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, Montgomery officiating.
