Willa Jane Poore Keith, 84, was reunited with her husband of 52 years, James H. “Jim” Keith, on February 26, 2025, after an extended illness. She transitioned peacefully at home with daughter Beth and son Darin by her side.
Jane was born in Pemberton, West Virginia, to Hoyle D. and Edith B. Poore. She leaves to cherish her memory: Beth; Darin and his wife Chintimini; grandsons Declan, 16, and Eamon, 14; brother John and his wife Anna; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, brother James Poore and his wife Glenna and sister Mary Beth Poore Ray.
Ms. Jane worked in various positions at Maxwell AFB Elementary School from 1977 until she retired in 2010. She loved the students and parents and influenced many lives through her work at the school. Jane's husband, Jim, was devoted to his career in the United States Air Force, which allowed Jane and their children to join him at various base assignments whenever possible.
Jane loved all animals, but especially her precious Shi-tzu Belle, who she met at the Rainbow Bridge for a joyous reunion. The household has been graced by many cats over the years, each one of them special and adored. Current fur-babies Mystik and Aurora, as well as her children, respectfully request that memorial donations be made to the Montgomery Humane Society (1150 John Overton Drive, Montgomery, AL, 36110) in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to thank Jane’s physicians, Enhabit Hospice and Home Helpers for their loving concern and excellent care.
Please be kind and respect all fellow humans and animals.
May God hold you in his arms while we hold you in our hearts forever. Rest well, sweet and gentle soul. You deserve it!
