Clarence Peter Hebert Jr., a longtime resident of Bayou Vista, was called to his heavenly home unexpectedly on Thursday, October 7, 2021, while visiting his favorite place on earth, the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. He was 59 years old.
Clarence was a wonderful and loving husband and father who always took care of everyone else. Clarence always brought smiles and laughter to those around him. He excelled at cooking and was the epitome of a grill master, though spaghetti was his best dish. Whenever he was able, Clarence enjoyed riding his bicycle, hiking, or generally being outdoors where he found peace. Clarence’s greatest moments in life were marrying his childhood sweetheart and becoming a dad. He will be forever remembered by his family for the love he gave them, the constant care he provided, and his endless dad jokes.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 36 years, Malissa “Missy” C. Hebert; his son, Adam Hebert; his daughter, Morgan Hebert Gisclair and her husband, Jimmie; his mother, Gloria Hebert; and his six siblings, Patrick Hebert, Kevin Hebert, Peggy Billiot, Penny Hebert, Polly Aaron, and Shanna Ross.
Clarence was reunited in heaven with his son, Grant Hebert, and his father, Clarence Hebert Sr.
A time of visitation takes place on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 10:00am until the time of dismissal at 1:30pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 2:00pm at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Berwick with Clarence being laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum following services. Monsignor Douglas Courville will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clarence’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
