Darnell Ann Leger

Darnell had a heart full of love and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She found pure delight in music—whether dancing around the house or gliding gracefully on skates, her soul was always in motion. A true animal lover, she cherished her beloved pets—cats, dogs, birds, and fish—and cared for them with deep affection, treating each one like family. She was a proud and passionate Steelers fan, cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. With a crochet hook in hand, she crafted warmth and comfort for those she loved. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and pet mom—nurturing, generous, and endlessly loving. Her vibrant spirit and boundless love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Those left to cherish Darnell's beautiful memory is her husband of 56 years, Clifton Dale John Leger; her three daughters, Stacy Kirkland and her husband, Jimmy, Corey Fryer and her husband, Todd, and Connie Saez and her husband, Luis; her son, Kody J. Leger and his girlfriend, Kim; her grandchildren, Kayla Hunt, Brock Kirkland, Chad Kirkland, Micah Louviere, Lil Todd Fryer, Gabrielle Naquin, Marquee Russo, Lexes Berthelot, Andrew Leger, and Noah Leger; and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Leger, her brother, Destin Guidry and his wife, Jona, one pet bird, cat, and puppy dog.

She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Lauris Guidry and Alvina Blanchard Guidry; her son, Clifton D. Leger Jr.; her son-in-law, Mark Berthelot; her granddaughter, Christen Kirkland; her sister, Connie Welch and three brother-in-laws, Allen, Ray and Pete Leger.

A time of memorial visitation and remembrance will be held for Darnell on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of Darnell's life will follow visitation at 7:00 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home.
