Denise Mayer, a loving mother, devoted caregiver, and cherished grandmother to her step-grandchildren, will be remembered for her caring heart, fierce independence, wisdom, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew and loved her. Denise passed on July 6, 2026, at the age of 58.
Denise was a proud member of the Morgan City High School Flag Corps and carried that same spirited energy throughout her life. She loved music, especially Fleetwood Mac and the rock music of the 1980s. If there was music playing, Denise was dancing. She never needed much of an excuse to get up, enjoy the moment, and make others smile.
Those who knew Denise will remember her as someone who was fun-loving, deeply caring, and wonderfully unique. She had a special way of making people feel loved and remembered. She may even hold the record for the longest and sweetest voice messages—little pieces of her heart that her loved ones will treasure forever.
Family was at the center of Denise’s life. She was a devoted mother, a treasured caregiver, and a loving grandmother figure to her step-grandchildren. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, humor, strength, and unconditional love. Cherished loving gramma to her grandchildren with Georgia and Dakoda Allen.
Denise is now rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved son, Rudy, and her husband, Thurlow “Flander.” While her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace.
She is survived by her son, Dustin Aucoin; her mother and stepfather, Karen and Frank Fink; father of her children , Rudolph Aucoin Jr, Heather Anderson & her step-grandchildren ; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
We will continue to pray for all who loved Denise and mourn her loss. Her laughter, her love of music, her dancing, her heartfelt voice messages, and her beautiful, unforgettable spirit will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Denise. Keep dancing among the angels. You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
P.S. Mom, I love you always and forever.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home, 1031 Victor II Blvd, Morgan City, Louisiana 70380, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
