Diettra V Aucoin

Diettra Vance Aucoin, 66, a native of Jennings and a resident of Morgan City passed away, Thursday December 15, 2011 at the Teche Regional Medical Center.

Diettra enjoyed spending time with her family, who she deeply loved. She was known for her cooking, especially her delicious chili. Often her family would gather around the meal she prepared especially for them. Diettra was an avid Saints fan, known for cheering loudly for the team as she watched them play. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother.

Diettra is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Aucoin of Morgan City; five loving children, Renee Scully of Bayou Vista, Annette Aucoin of Morgan City, Larry Aucoin of Morgan City, Karen Thibodeaux and her husband, Carl, of Morgan City, and Dean Aucoin of Morgan City; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Vance; her mother, Rosemary Macfarlen Vance; three children, Larry Jr., Lenes, and David Aucoin; one son-in-law, Roger Scully, and one brother, Joemac Macfarlen.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, January 13, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at Hargrave Funeral Home with services beginning at 7pm.

I am glad that i had the pleasure to spend time with Diettra and the family. I remember doing alot of laughing with her. She never knew a stanger.She was a very very sweet wonderful lady. Diettra will be sadly missed. Now she can have conversation with my dad (Sterling Mayon) and also my brother (Rickey Mayon.)Will miss you. May you rest in peace. Love ya.
