Gaynell Earl Topham, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the age of 86. Gaynell proudly served his country in the United States Army and nurtured the growing minds of his community as a high school teacher for the St. Mary Parish School Board.
Gaynell is survived by his brother, Sheldon Topham; his four sisters, Gloria Benoit, Dorothy Gilmore, Beatrice Hanks and Janet Comeaux and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Creighton and Merle King Topham and two brothers, Creighton Topham Jr and Curtis Topham.
A graveside service for Gaynell will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Morgan City Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Jett officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City, Louisiana.
