Jean’s favorite hobby was gardening and took pride in harvesting a vegetable garden each year. She also enjoyed shopping for antiques, fishing and attending the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival.
Jean started her career in the marine industry in 1961. She eventually started her own company and ran a successful business for many years in a male dominated industry.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her son, Mikel R. Clark; two daughters, Kelly Simoneaux and husband David, and Shari Clark Rawls; her sister, Merle Pettiet; as well as six grandchildren, Kassi Harrington, Jesse Simoneaux, Brittany Shilling, Alexandra LeBlanc, John Ross Clark and Dayna Felterman. Iva also leaves eight great-grandchildren; and life long companion J.B. Guillory.
Jean was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Ross Dickson and Johnnie Greere Dickson; one brother, Ross Dickson; and one sister, Joy Meurer.
The family would like to give special thanks to J.B. Guillory, James Kyle and the staff of Heart of Hospice for their care and love given to Iva during her illness.
Visitation for Jean will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 9:00am until time of service at Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon with burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
