

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Calvin and Trizzie Elizabeth Lowrimore of Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hoot Osmond Lowrimore and Curtis Calvin Lowrimore, and his sisters, Billie Lowrimore Kersey, Pearl Lowrimore Wells, Jamie Lowrimore Roberts, Betty Lowrimore Wells, Deanna Lowrimore Frith-Mew, and Donnie Lowrimore Anderson.
Jerald is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sharon Cuvillier Lowrimore. He was a devoted father to his son, Jerald Wayne “J.W.” Lowrimore, and his wife Noelle, and his daughter, JoAnn Lowrimore Gaughran, and her husband Matthew. He was a proud grandfather to Shea Michelle Gaughran, Avery Noelle Gaughran, and Tyler Oxley-Gaughran.
Jerald was born as the eighth of nine children and attended Socostee High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving honorably as an aviation mechanic. His service took him to Japan and Vietnam, where he actively participated in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Jerald moved to Louisiana to work in the oil and gas industry.
Jerald began his career in commercial diving with Wells and Cook Divers, quickly becoming a legend in the industry. He was globally recognized as one of the leading visionaries and mentor in saturation diving. His dedication and expertise eventually led him to the position of base manager for Cal Dive International, where he worked until his retirement.
During his retirement, Jerald enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, traveling with his wife, and spending cherished moments with his grandchildren. Known for his humility, honesty, and straightforward nature, Jerald was a man who never minced words. His passion for life, unwavering commitment to his family, and significant contributions to his field will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jerald Lowrimore's life was a testament to hard work, love, and integrity. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana. Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:30pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina with Funeral Services for Jerald taking place at 2:00pm at Live Oak Church in Mullets Inlet, South Carolina. Following the services, Jerald will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerald's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
