

Doug enjoyed his years working for Shell Oil, and after retirement loved spending time with his grandchildren. His last two years were spent in Florida, where he enjoyed the sunny views and warm winters. Doug was a loving father to Karen Pillsbury of Katy, Texas, and Gail Presley of Trinity, Florida. His kindness and generosity, his sense of humor and his quiet company will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory are his two daughters, Karen Pillsbury of Katy, TX and Gail Presley of Trinity, FL; and three grandchildren, Shannon Gill of New Port Richey, FL., Ian Gill of Katy, TX. and Paige Presley of Jenkintown, PA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Acosta Pillsbury; his parents, John and Sue Pillsbury; and his brother, Joe Pillsbury.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10:30 am until time of service which will begin at 12noon all at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, John will be laid to rest with his beloved Shirley in the Morgan City Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the East St. Mary Veteran Funeral Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City, Louisiana.
