Jude was a man whose faith shaped every part of his life. Proud to be in “the truth” as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he spent more than 70 years believing in and sharing that hope, always looking forward to the day he would enjoy paradise on earth reunited with his beloved wife, Noricia, his loved ones and his wife’s Blanchard family who he became very close to during his marriage. Deeply loved in his community, Jude was known for his kindness, honesty, his willingness to help, and his tireless service—whether assisting others in daily life or lending his hands to Kingdom Hall builds. A hardworking plumber, he provided faithfully for his family, yet always understood that the most important work was making memories with those he loved. Jude was well known for loading up the back of his plumbing truck with kids, to go fishing, usually after grabbing an icee from West End Store. Jude enjoyed westerns, the music of George Jones, and, in recent years, brought smiles everywhere he went with his charm and unforgettable warmth. His life was a gift to all who had the blessing of knowing him.
Those left to cherish Jude’s wonderful memory are his two daughters, Betty Jo Fryou and her husband, Joseph “Joby” Jr., and Laura Ann Young and her companion, Jamal Prejean Sr.; two grandchildren, Megan Romero and her companion, Micah, and Kaeden Thomas and his companion, Haley; one great granddaughter, Meadow Sweet. He is survived by his brother, Donald Young; his sister, Peggy Miller; and two brother-in-laws, Kenneth and Reese Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Noricia Marie Blanchard Young; his father, Joseph Olin Young; his mother, Vivian Marie Young; his siblings, Wanzie “Jo Ann” Young, Sherry Mitchum, and Charlotte Robicheaux; his in-laws, Linus and Shirley Blanchard and a sister-in-law, Vickie Turner.
