Kathleen G. Vice

March 13, 1933May 21, 2020

Kathleen G. Vice was born on March 13, 1933 to V.J. and Virgie Guillot in Berwick, Louisiana. She joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Heaven’s gate on Thursday, May 21, 2020 to begin life eternal.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ed Vice; two children, Danny and Jimmy; her sister, Joy and brother, Harlan.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Baldwin (David Baldwin) of Gonzales, LA; son, Samuel White (Carolyn) of Erath, LA; her extended family, Judy Von Muller, Randy Vice, Rhonda Shannon, Deborah Darby and their spouses; and her brothers, Reggie and Kenny Guilot of Bayou Vista. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who love her dearly.

Kat’s love for everyone was evident in all she did. Above all, her love for Jesus Christ was her focus. She spent many hours each day studying her Bible and spreading the love of Jesus. One of her favorite past-times was crocheting bookmark crosses. She would hand them to everyone she met while passing along the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone who knew her, knew she was a devoted Christian prayer warrior and exemplified JOY, Jesus in Others, and You wherever she went.

Kat leaves this world with the blessed assurance that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. She leave us with these words: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me- the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge will award me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me, but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing – II Timothy 4: 7-8

A time of visitation and remembrance for Kat will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10am until 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home. Private services will be held by the family following visitation with being laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Due to the current requirements regarding social distancing and limited gatherings, Hargrave Funeral Home can only allow up to 75 guests in the facility. Those unable to attend the visitation due to gathering restrictions are encouraged to leave the family words of comfort online via the share a memory link. My name is Julie Delasbour-McCurtis. I'm so sorry for your loss! I just found the obituary! I cared for Mrs. Kathleen's mother at Patterson nursing home years ago. Mrs. Kathleen comforted me at time I should have been comforting her, when her mom was diagnosed and passed away. I know I don't need to tell you, but, that was a clear example of how big her heart was. You have my condolences! Prayers for your family!!!❤❤

Beautiful service for a lovely woman. Jean took my daughter, Christina, and I to Aunt Kat's to spend a couple of evenings during my mother's funeral in 2002. She was so gracious to us and because of her we still do word puzzles and my daughter ate cinnamon raisin bread for breakfast for years. RIP Aunt Kat . . .

Maw Maw Kat is my step great grandmother. But I have always seen her as my real great grandmother. I remember every holiday that the children would go to my Maw Maw Carolyn's for, she would be there telling stories of God. And just always being the loving godly woman you read in the obituary. She was the most generous, loving, god fearing woman I have ever known. Love you Maw Kat. Rest in peace you beautiful angel.

Although she was not my biological aunt, we considered her our "Aunt."
As a child I can remember her when I would visit with "Aunt" Joy & Uncle "Moe." She would also visit with Mom & Dad to have coffee and talk about the Lord.
She was a very sweet lady and I know she will be missed by many.
God rest your Soul, "Aunt" Kat. Precious Memories of her!
Prayers and comfort to her family at this time.

Prayers and thoughts for all of the family.
While things are hard right now, try to remember the wonderful, happy, crazy, love-filled moments you spent together. Those memories are irreplaceable treasures that last forever.
Those we loved never go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and forever dear.
