She was born to parents Lena Guichet Plessala and Roy Plessala, Sr. on 21 March 1951 in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Louise’s occupation was in banking for over 25 years in Morgan City and Berwick mostly with First National Bank which later became Whitney Bank. She retired in 2005. Louise was a lifelong member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Berwick.
She enjoyed time spent at Grand Isle at the family camp during her childhood summers and later as on weekends as an adult. Her hobbies included painting and gardening.
While attending Nicholls State University she worked alongside Veterinarians tending and caring for animals. Towards her later years her greatest hobby and calling was fostering animals. She was honored several times as “Rescuer of the Year”.
Another special calling was visiting residents of nursing homes on Monday mornings to lighten their day and bring gifts and sweets.
She traveled all over America including Hawaii, Maine and New England, the Dakotas and Mount Rushmore as well as Wyoming and Montana and Yellowstone. She often snow skied at Crested Butte, Colorado with friends. But, there was no place like lounging or fishing in Louisiana and Toledo Bend, Lake Larto, the Atchafalaya Basin and her beloved Grand Isle. By her request, a memorial service will be held in Grand Isle.
Louise suffered of late medical issues which she heroically managed from childhood; diabetes from age 6 and epilepsy from age 10 but was still able to deliver with the love of her life her miracle in 1983 and is survived by him, her beloved son Benjamin Chaisson. She is also survived by nieces Mitzi Archer and Michelle Simpson’ and great niece Sammi Archer and great nephew Jack Archer, very close cousins Randy Plessala, Darlene Skelton, Connie Atkins, Jamie Swords, Connie Francois, and many other cousins and countless friends of a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy “Mitt” Plessala, Sr. and Lena Guichet Plessala and her brother Roy Plessala, Jr.
