

In the quiet of the night on February 16, 2025, Marjorie Lydell Pierce left this earthly plane to join her loved ones who await her. Her loving husband ,Peter Levy Pierce Jr. of 74 years; her parents, Pearl Alberta Lensing, and James Napoleon Sowell who rejoiced at her birth on December 1, 1932, and her step-father, Algie Jake LaBove.
She left many loving memories for her 3 children and their families. Grateful to have such a Godly Mother is her son, David James Pierce and his wife, who was like a daughter to her, Brenda. David and Brenda have 2 children, their son, Michael Pierce wife, Jessica who blessed "Gee Gee" with 4 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gabriel, Ethan and James and daughter Stephany. Her oldest Daughter is Kathryn Lydell Pierce and her children, Christopher Bloch and his wife, Elizabeth, and Clayton Bloch who added 2 more great grandchildren, Rigby and Sophie. And her youngest daughter Karla Louise Singer and her children, Lara Wheeler and husband, Matt who also added 3 more great grandchildren to cherish her, Ivan, Louis and Elyse and son, Douglas.
Margie was a very involved member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she had several ministries. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member and soloist. She was also an inspirational teacher during summer Bible School. She will be remembered for the biscuits she baked for the congregation and her Sunday school class.
Being a member of Morgan City Art Guild, she became a prolific artist continuing to paint and share her gift even during her stay at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
The Pierce family is thankful for mama’s church family who continued to pray for her wellbeing. We appreciate Gerald Richard, who visited mama and helped to keep her connected to her Morgan City Community. She looked forward to phone calls from friends and relatives.
We are grateful for the compassionate care mama received during her residency at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
We are thankful she is now receiving her Heavenly Reward for the 92 years of service and dedication to her Heavenly Father, to her Savior Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9:00am until time of dismissal at 12:30pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City. Marjorie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following services.
